BLINK, GALLERY TAKSU SINGAPORE 2006
Within the immediacy of each stroke, traces of personal and collective memory materialise where intuition and intention meet and the materials and surfaces become landscapes for exploration. Within these terrains, gestures act as fragments of thought, feeling, and memory. The work is simultaneously intimate and expansive, each piece becoming a record of this lived encounter and a space where marks are not merely visual but tactile and deeply human.
My work is characterised by the concept of mark as experience, drawing inspiration from an approach to the line as a living realisation. The process is less about illustrating a specific idea and more about engaging with the act of creation. Marks, textures, and spaces emerge simultaneosuly within the duality of abstraction and narrative, where meaning is not dictated, but discovered, layered, ephemeral and open to interpretation.
